I'm Not Alone
Throughout the semester, I thought that I was suffering alone. I thought that I was the dumbest student and that I have the lowest grades.
We have more than 100 people in the cohort. That's not possible.
More often than not, when we are struggling we feel that there's no one who could possibly feel that same pain as we do. However, when you have the opportunity to look at the big picture, there are so many people who had the same struggles. Sometimes they post it online to share, other times you get to meet a person and bond with them through the trauma.
I've been constantly thinking that everybody will do better than me, that I'm the one falling behind. But I try to think in a more positive way.
"Even if I don't know it, I'm not alone. Someone out there, whether in my cohort or not, is struggling just like me."
It's not a lot, but it's helped me get out of some dark thoughts.
We just need reminders that there's someone who knows how it feels. Having that companionship helps ease the pain.
